Horse trekking to Famous Orkhon valley national park. This fabulous horse trekking takes you to the highlights of the Central Mongolia that includes UNESCO World heritage site Orkhon Valley cultural landscape with numerous archaeological remains dating back to the 6 – 13th centuries. The site also includes Khara Khorum, the 13th- and 14th-century capital of Genghis Khan’s vast Empire, Buddhist monasteries, green hills, landscapes, waterfall and nomadic life style. We will ride about 35 – 40km per day. Route is very gently, looks like open steppe and rolling hills. Each day we are supported following by track, camping equipments and cook. The horse trail is very out stunning beautiful and crews are very friendly. We stay overnight in the very beautiful camping spot and making bon fire under the starry nights. This horse trekking tour will be unforgettable experience in your life and you will enjoy riding, galloping on green steppes under the land of blue sky.

Day 1. Travel to Lake Ogii.

Day 2 – 3. Horse Riding to Orkhon River Valley.

Day 4. Horse Riding to Khara Khorum, Ancient Capital of Genghis Khan.

Day 5-6. Horse Riding Through Orkhon Valley National Park & Waterfall.

Day 7-8. Horse Riding, Return Back to Khujirt Hot Spring.

Day 9. Travel Back to Steppe Riders Camp via Hustai National Park.

Day 10. Ulaanbaatar & Departure.

 

Day 1. Travel to Lake Ogii.

Meet us at steppe rider’s camp or your accommodation at capital. We will travel to lake Ogii, where is home to birds and fishes. It is also good place for horseback riding. We arrive at lake late afternoon and exploring around places. Meet with our horses and horseman. Stay overnight at tents, shore of the lake.

Day 2 – 3. Horse Riding to Orkhon River Valley.

Today we start our horse riding to Orkhon valley national park and those full 2 days horse riding gives you real Mongolian riding experience and you will enjoy riding through green landscape and riding distance would be 35-40 km per day. When we are riding horses we will visit at nomadic family and get a first introduction of their lifestyle. Enjoy and learning experience of Mongolian horses and stay overnight at tent under starry nights.

Day 4. Horse Riding to Khara Khorum, Ancient Capital of Genghis Khan.

We keep continuing our horse riding for 20km to Khara Khorum city. Arrive and visit at legendary Buddhist monastery Erdene-Zuu and local museum. After we visited, we keep riding to out of town. Stay overnight at tent.

Day 5-6. Horse Riding Through Orkhon Valley National Park & Waterfall.

Full 2 days, we continue our horseback riding through Orkhon Valley national park. Enjoy seeing the natural beauty, hundreds of animals on horseback and rich in flowers and meadows. Our riding distances will be 35 – 40 km per day. In the last day, late evening – we will reach at Orkhon waterfall. It is one of the facinating waterfall in the country which drops 24m from high cliffs. Stay overnight at tents.

Day 7 – 8. Horse Riding, Return Back to Khujirt Hot Spring.

In the morning, our journey will ride back to Khujirt hot Spring, through the huge valley and forested mountains. When we arrive at hot spring, we will finish our horse riding and pack our horses on track and horses will be leave us. We stay overnight at tents.

Day 9. Travel Back to Steppe Riders Camp via Hustai National Park.

In the morning, we drive back to Ulaanbaatar. On the way, we will visit at Hustai national park and will see the Mongolian wild horses Takhi and wildlife. It is rare opportunity to watch the Mongolian horse’s ancestor Takhi horses in the park. We stay overnight at steppe riders camp.  

Day 10. Ulaanbaatar & Departure.

After long day journey with us, you are transfer to Ulaanbaatar and farewell.
